when i try to downlaod a file, internet explorer gets a popup "secutiy alert " and says my current security setting won't allow me to download!! is this within i.e explorer?

Tools>Internet Options>Security and set to Medium.

This may still bring up the yellow warning at the top of the screen, but you can just click it, then tell it to download.

Thanks for the reply mate, I did that and it says the recommended settings is medium (which they already are) all antispyware and antivirus are ahutoff at the moment as well.

Have you tried using the defualt IE settings ?

Tools->Advanced->'RESTORE DEFAULTS'

yep, sorted that out turned out it was antispy toolbar. I have another problem my interent seems to shut off after a while on the router, directly it's fine and it's only my computer on the network that has this problem. Are there any settings on the router that might be doing this?

sorted that out too seemed to be azureus.
