DFS referrals?
anyone know anything about distributed file systems?
Ive got a folder on one server, how do people view that folder on another server(dfs) with the sensible naming structure?
ie \\serverA\c$\folder to \\domain\dfs\folder

it's "domain name\dfs share name" IIRC
This should help - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../dfsguide.mspx

What do you want to do?
Is it AD integrated DFS?
Create a root .. which becomes your dfs 'root share'
then just create a link..
Give the Link a name say, 'David'
Configure the path to the target ie \\davidsstupidservername\fred$\bolloc*s\dunno\long ername\feb2003\reallycrapnamingstandards\david
Click Ok.
Then connect to
\\Server\DFS\david
We used to do it as \\servername\Company Name
then mapped a drive to the DFS root.
You can also publish the root in AD.
so you can do \\Domain.local\Share
