tcp/ip not installed message - HELP!
Hi all, your help & advice required please.
I have recently been getting an error message (XP Home) 'The TCP/IP network is not installed'. I have noticed and think that it is no coincidence (?) that i can no longer connect to my smartphone via activesync.
It is possibly something to do with uninstalling Norton or installing Mcafee?
A step by step idiots guide would be great
Anyone?
RS.

By the sounds of it you don’t have the TCP/IP Protocol installed. You can check this by going into "control panel", "network connections" then double click your Local Area Connection and click the "properties" button.
Under where it says "this connection uses the following items" you should have listed "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". If you don't then you need to install it.
You can do that by clicking on "install", "Protocol" then select TCP/IP.
If you do have it listed try uninstalling TCP/IP and re-installing it as that may fix your problem.
