Creating an SUS server
Hi peeps,
I need to create a windows update server for 120+ machines. I remember it was glanced over on the course I did BUT does anyone have any info on creating one step by step and being deployed in a non AD environment.
I've read up a bit on google but im getting a little confused re: sus and wsus etc.

think u will have to build a wsus server now - they dont do sus any more.. wsus is just as easy ( wsus is the modern version of wsus)
http://www.wsus.info/forums/
just download, install, fly through the options and set the registry on your pc's, group policy is easy but you say no AD, logon script aint to difficult

Ah I have been messing about with this at work recently on a test server.
I install WSUS as this seems to be the later version.
I have it all installed etc and the test workstation is listed under the "computers" section and I have also approved the updates that I want installed (SP2 for XP as this is easy to see if it's been installed on the test workstation) but it doesn't seem to be installing SP2 onto the workstation?
It just says the update is "needed" even though I have set it to "install"?
Any ideas?
