Question rar file repair tool?

I have a corrupted rar file and want to see if any of the files in it can be recovered. I have found the 'Advanced RAR Repair' (ARAR) software, but I don't think that recovering the files is worth $150 to me. Can anyone suggest any alternatives.

I have tried the google search on scoobynet suggested while search is disabled, but no luck.

Thanks

James

There's a repair function built in to winrar have you tried this?

WinRAR does reciver some, but not all. From what I can work out the ARAR demo claims to recover more files, but I can't actually check this without buying the software.

It may be that the file isn't properly repairable, but if there is a suitable tool available I would like to find out about it.

Thanks

James

Par2 Recovery files would of been the option, however they need to be created at the point of raring from a good set of rars.

Bob, thanks for the suggestion. I had not heard of par2 and will remember it in the future.
