Question Bios dead?

My other pc has decided to give up the ghost just out of the warranty period (2 weeks).
Fault is no picture on monitor and the POST gets to 9.0 bios boot up, nothing else happens, though it had been playing up for some time, ie taking time to detect the hard drive etc, then went really bad and now doesnt even boot up so i think my bios is dead?
Anyone else confirm this (its an ABit Fatal1ty mobo btw).

Thanks!

Tony

FOUND THIS ON ANOTHER FORUM:
I've got a new machine built, and on my first few tries of booting I was getting the 3.8 that other people seem to be having troubles with. But, for some reason it started getting past that part fine, but now when I turn it on it gets as far as 9.0, and then it just sits there. The computer is still on and all the lights and fans are running, but it never boots up. Supposedly this is the point where the bios takes over, but it doens't look like that's happening.

ONLY REPLY IS:
As long as your not shorting out on something while the board is installed in the case (Try a bare bones boot with board out of case to check this) Then I would look at that PSU being inadequate. The raidmax PSU's are not to highly regarded, especially for a system as power hungry as the one your putting together there.

worth trying a new psu or drop the board into a pc shop for a test.

Have you tried replacing your RAM or removing one stick at a time?

Pull out every card apart from graphics and try again.

lowers power supply load and can get some machines to at least past post, been surprised in the past.
Also try the memory thing, if you have two sticks try only one then swap for the one you pulled.
Have you cleared the bios-try incase some muppet has been tweaking behind your back!
