no doubt there will be the new technology/ propriatry software/ difficult to programme etc. thrown at us...
sorry guys there is no way i would ever pay that price for any software..

I'm a PS man through and through, but as i have a nice big Panasonic HDTV, i had to get a 360 to test it out and to say it's awesome to watch is a total understatment!

Secondly, Chip, PS3 is where whats at? if you know the PS3 exsists point me in the rigth direction, Sony are saying first 1/4 of 2007 now, its laughable. and when it does come out its specs are not gonna be any/if at all better than the xbox360....

when did I ever let facts get in the way of a good post?
I was under the impression PS3 was out mid 2006, I'll stand corrected though, and as for specs, I was also on the understanding the PS3 pissed all over the 360 from a great height?

Absolute CPU performance puts the PS3 ahead of the X360 (i.e. it can do more calculations per second) but the X360 graphics capability is far superior meaning that performance is fairly equal.
As John Carmack puts it, overall the PS3 is 20% more powerful but the X360 is more than 20% easier to write code thats uses all the capabilities it has to offer so the games will probably end up about the same.
Disclaimer: this is all from reading what people in the industry have said, so who knows how accurate it is?

360 is here now, will consider the PS3 as and when.
It's something to do, a new gadget, new toy. It's cold and dark outside, sod all going on, so if I wern't spending money on this I'd only be wasting it on something else.
WIll probably get bored of it like everything else, but it's still fun for now. Infact I need another go!

Only got my 360 this morning, very impressed so far, will be on from about half 5 sunday evening if nevetas or scoobydoo are about. PGR3 or PDZ.

When I say unoriginal I mean PGR, which came from the Dreamcast, and Halo which came from Bungie, a Macintosh developer.
It's the software that will make these consoles and this is where the PS3 will win.

Kiwi if you know your games Metropolis street racer isn't the same as PGR - PGR2
and by unoriginal games you could now put GT/Killzone/ that other games that was ok on ps2

Think i will stick with my xbox for now, at least until you can chip and download games for free for the 360 too!

360 games are floating about online but not worth it i was always a ps fan till i got my first xbox and well will be geting 360 at some point. do any of you boys do xboxlive? if you dont want to pay to play try xbc all you have to do is get a crossover cable and plug your xbox in to a network card in the back of your pc and online gameing. ment to say you need to down load the program link here

used XBC on my oldbox - not now though, coz I've got Live (it's free with the 360)
There's no point in downloading 360 games, as there's no chip for the it (yet) - plus with the Live aspect integrated into the very core of the 360, it's going to be very difficult to use a chipped 360.....
+ as Scoobynet's population greatly consist of IT/software developing people, a very dim view (read as FLAMING) is taken upon those who pirate/use illegal software!! Kinda hits a raw nerve

Even if Sony do manage a Dec 06 lauch, MS are laying in wait with Halo 3 for the same launch day - its the most anticipated game currently being developed..........
