Firewall Software for PC's
Morning all,
OK, I currently have a copy of Zone Alarm on my PC, it's free and seems ok, but it's somewhat limited, unless I'm missing something. For example, it alerted me to someone trying to connect on port 548 (AFP over IP), which was fine, as it was me connecting from another machine. ZA did not seem to have an option to allow me to open up that port to all addresses, or a specific list of addresses, only to the address that the connection was coming from. That's ok, but a bit of a pain.
So, is this a limiation of the free version of ZA and something the pro version would allow?
If not, then what other, prefereably free, or cheap, software firewalls would people recommend to use? I'd love a PC version of Brian Hall's Brickhouse software that I've played with on the mac, as that gives me the exact control I need, however, it's really just a pretty interface for the built in unix firewall anyway.
This is primarily for Windows 2000, as I've got the built in firewall doing it's thing under 2003 server, plus SLES9 is running it's firewall as well.
any info appreciated.

You are right, you need the pro version to open up and customise port setting etc.
Best bet is to pick up an original of mcaffee firewall or panda titanium from amazon, then go to the sub-retailers - you can buy originals for under £8 on occasion.
