If it translates VGA to Scart as bad as it translates to english from its native language I wouldn't bother!!!

However, I always thought TVs couldn't cope too well with the signal from PCs. Be interesting to see how well it worked.

Can't remember what the res of PAL is but it's pretty cr@p.

Personally I wouldn't bother hooking a PC up to a TV unless it's a LCD/Plasma jobbie

PAL (Phase Alternation by Line) is only 625 lines on a TV so the res compared to a monitor is poor (typically 1024x768 or even higher!!!), adding to the fact that the scan rate of a TV is 15,625Hz compared to a monitors typicall 31,000 ish. The refresh rate (how many times the picture updates) of a PAL TV is also only 50Hz unless you have super new 100Hz TV or one that will display NTSC in which case its 60Hz, monitors typically do between 60-85 depending on which type. It won't look as good as a monitor though. Edited to add if you have a high def TV then through a DVI lead then this may give decent pictures though not sure on the interfacing or current possibility of this

Yes, computer output on a TV looks terrible, at least on non-HD ones. You're better off putting the TV onto the computer.
