BULKPAQ 4x DVD-R BLANK DISCS,anyone ever used them?
Basically i'm still using my old 2X writer but the discs i normally use RIDisc 4x are getting hard to find.I've been offerred a 50 Bulkpaq 4x at £10 delivered but unlike the RIDisc i dont think they used the ritek dye.
Anyone ever used them (blue tops i think).

If you want superb compatibility, reliability and longevity stick with Taiyo Yuden's. I'm currently using Verbatim TYG02's and they are faultless. You get what you pay for.

Depends on your writer. One one of my machines (with an NEC writer) I get 1 coaster per 5-6 the I write. On the other (with a phillips lightscribe drive) they seems to work fine...

The problem with Bulkpaq is their batches are never consistent and the dye quality and even manufacturer changes regularly.
You will find it very difficult to find Ridisc 4x (G04 Ritek) disks any more. I do know of one company selling them, but they are 20p each which I You would expect to pick some up for less than 20p.
Ritek disks are in a different league and offer maximum compatibility and are very reliable.
cheers

Interesting study on CD/DVD here: http://www.itl.nist.gov/div895/gipwg/StabilityStudy.pdf
Granted, it may not be such as issue for most home users, but you do need to consider really how important the information on the disc is to you. If you can afford to lose it, then any old discs will do. If you can't then, you really should be making a more informed purchase.
