Default Can you add a DVD menu without re-encoding the whole dvd?

Basically i created a DVD of different file types using Nero visionexpress with menu but the quality after transcoding was poor.I can create a much better one just by adding the clips together and burning in Nero, but without a menu.
Can i somehow add a menu without transcoding the whole film and losing quality?

IIRC, I don't think you can Paul. I've tried several times with DVD Studio Pro (Mac) to no avail.

However, I'm not exactly an expert (yet!)

You can do it with DVDReMake Pro. I followed this tutorial to merge to full DVD's into one retaining their original menus too. The same could be adapted for what you want to do.

I think thats to replace a menu, not create one where nothing exists.

It creates an additional root menu, whether there is one there already or not.
