Micro ATX M/Bs for Tiny computers?
Hi,
Decided to upgrade my bruvs computer for him - it's a Tiny which had ME on it so well overdue to get sorted. Now the problem was that XP wouldn't boot (from the installation CD that is). A bit of Googling and I tried to upgrade the BIOS. 'Programming error' .... doh! A bit more Googling and trying the MB manufacturers suggested BIOS fix routine didn't fix it. So off to 'Recoverbios' for a new chip. Duly arrived with the latest BIOS BUT the damn thing will still not boot!!!!!
Sometimes I get as far as the ME spash screen, sometimes it hangs just after telling me about all the IDE devices, sometimes I don't get a video signal. Tried it with different memory, with the least amount of stuff connected to get a video signal. Tried a different power supply.
I'm coming to the conclusion that the Mb is fooked BUT it's a Micro ATX board with an Athlon Slot A in it - they seem to be rare as hens teeth ... anyone know where to get one?
And any more suggestions to test things? (Gonna try the graphics card tommorrow)?
Cheers
Dave
