Default Socket A......fading away!!!

I've read on the internet that the Socket A format on motherboards is fading fast.....so whats the current recommend CPU wise??

Socket 940 is the next big thing for AMD. Not sure when it's out though.

As Steve said this has been out for ages...

M2 is the next big thing for the desktop, which is due Q1/Q2 next year.
Will include DDR2 support FWIW
