OSX 10.4 (Tiger) - not as straightforward as you think!!!
Well, that was THE most traumatic MacOS update I've ever had...
Updated from 10.3 to 10.4. Checked everything over. Seemed OK.
Everything was except Logic Pro 7 - caused a crash (hang) & prompt to email the report to Apple.
As a result, I've had to flush the Mac and re-install everything - it works now. Apparently it's a side-effect associated with this package.
Bugger.
With the amount of music software and audio library I've got, it's taken my 5 hours so far to re-install everything!!! Not quite done yet, but I'm fooked.
Gawd Bless you Apple (they also make the Logic application now!!)

yeh - it's an Apple product (Apple Logic Pro 7).
Had the latest updates, but prefers to be installed after the OS update
Sorted now - but a long night

That's a poor show then! If it had not been tiger compatible or not the latest version then fair enough for a bit of hassle, but if it was Tiger compatible it should work.

Apparently according to some Logic forums - I'm not the only one who's experienced traumatic upgrades.....
I'm not going to bad-mouth it, because it's just one of those things - mine's now working, and TBH, it forced me to spring-clean my Mac
I just prefer to do it on my terms, not Apple's!!
Still, I love Tiger - it's a great update. This OS, just keeps getting better and better.

You would have thought that Apple would have tested their own products against their new OS before release!
We had to beta our software when Tiger was released as prior to that only developers (ok, those with ADC accounts and a Dev Seed Release Key) had access to Tiger, and even then it was seed releases so not the same as final code.

Just been there, just done that, just about sorted all my dev environments after 2 days...
Do any of you guys use PHP on your OSX machines?
Have you ever had to recompile it to include other libraries - Primebase for example.
I have been unable to find a noobs guide to recompiling it, they all seem to assume you know the first couple of steps.... (which I don't lol)
Any pointers?
