Unfortunately there are people in this world that cannot spell. I am one of them
Anyone know if you can get some sort of plugin that you can activate to do spell checking for you?
I am getting tired of writing posts in Word, and then copying them into here

to make firefox run better try this
http://www.totalidea.com/freestuff4.htm
and for the download status bar try this
http://downloadstatusbar.mozdev.org/
that is great too, even an option to scan the files once downloaded

Cool Am using all the ones suggested above, apart from the download status bar. Not really seen the need for that one
Another good one is image zoom. Allows you to hold your right mouse button on an image and then use the scroll wheel to make it bigger or smaller

i think it runs the tweaks in the about:config box as below and a few other things, it seems to load a bit quicker on mine but that may just be me, it seems to load the whole page in one go instead of in stages
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

I just re-ran and updated Firetune. Told it to optimise for a fast PC on a fast connection, and it did none of the tweaks that you mention above!!
So I have just gone and done them myself. Has made a big difference when navigating a site that you are already on. Initial loading of the site is not much different though.
Nice tweaks
