Bluetooth Capability via pc
I would like to make my phone compatible with the pc for use of downloading songs & photos
I have seen abluetooth dongle advertised at the local computing shop & was wondering if that is all i need ??
Would i need additional programmes ?
Thanks

A bluetooth dongle, hooked up to your PC with a bluetooth enabled phone should work no problem. You would presumably need to install any drivers for the dongle, then pair the two devices before they would work together, apart from that I can think of any problems.

Currently doing some R&D on bluetooth stuff at work.....been evaluating various makes of dongles and how they work with XP.
Obviously most dongles come wih drivers on CD, but XP SP2 now allows some BT dongles to work natively without any drivers....
XP Original does not support Bluetooth natively.
XP + SP1 does not support Bluetooth natively.
XP + SP1 + patch DOES support Bluetooth natively.
XP + SP2 DOES support Bluetooth natively.
A list of supported devices in SP2 is here http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=winxp
The dongles I have been using are NOT on this list, but worked out that the chip on them was made by CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio) - a lot of dongles use this chipset....so I just edited the bt.inf file to make XP think that my device was a generic CSR device.
Any issues, PM me.
