I have a Canon Pixma IP5000.It's brilliant quality and very quick and quiet too. I think the IP5000's are going for about £125 on the web now but if you can't stretch to that much then the IP3000 is also a good choice as that goes for around £58.It's on the PC Pro A List at the minute and their reviews are usually unbiased too...
I've had various HP/Epson photo printers in the past and I have to say this Canon beats them all hands down for speed/quality and quietness!! (Prints a 7x5 photo in 1 minute as an example)
