Default Does anyone have a windows ME cd I can have?

Hi all,

I am trying to install a printer on my mother in law to be's newly inherited PC.

It is running ME and is asking me for the disk to be able to install it.

No one knows where the original disk is.

I really don't want to start changing the operating system over to XP so my only option is to locate the cd.

Does anyone have one they aren't using that they can send me to get this working?

thanks.

Try searching the Printer manufacturers web site for the correct drivers. They will more than likely be more up to date the the ones on a ME disk!

I sem to recall on Win 98/ME you can install the drivers from Windows Update via the internet. Unless that service is no longer present due to Microsoft pulling support on the older Operating Systems.

I got the impression that drivers weren't the issue.

Is windows just asking me for the disk in order to locate its own drivers? I thought it was more than just that.

it is looking for about 6 .dll files.

I have no idea what they are!

.dll = Dynamic Link Libraries. Used for the drivers programs.

Worth downloading and installing the drivers from the printers manufacturers web page, as this may put in the required .dlls it's looking for.
