Corporate e-mail signatures (Outlook & Exchange 2003)
We want to standardise our e-mail signatures across the company. Does anyone know if Outlook 2003 can be managed through global policies to specify a shared signature template?
Since the sig must contain the individuals name, telephone & mobile, then something that would use a template and then populate fields from Active Directory would be ideal.
It needs to be managed centrally as I don't fancy visiting hundreds of PC's across sites just to create a signature.
There's also the possibility that different departments may use a slightly different signature (no mobile number on some users) but the overall look would be identical.
TIA
Stefan

Assuming you have Exchange....
As Chris mentioned, Exclaimer is good for this stuff, especialy if you want to add corporate logos. However if you don't need logos, a more useful option is GFI Mail Essentials which can handle spam, disclaimers & mail archiving. The freeware version can handle disclaimers.

I thought of GFI ME as well but the disclaimer handling isn't as flexible.
You can insert variables like username and e-mail address into a domain wide signature but not (that I could see) phone numbers from the Active Directory. User sig's would be a work around but I'm not sure you can automate the set-up.

There is always the non-technical approach:
Here is the template, you will use it, you will not alter it.
I guess it all depends on how many users you have and how big a stick you can use!

The last option was my first thoughts - especially the stick.
Tried GFI before and wasn't overly keen with the interface. I'll have a look at Exclaimer.
You'd think M$ would make this sort of thing a lot easier
