When running Xbconnect, do you need to turn off your firewall?

I'm running Zonealarm and I understand that there may be some known issues when running the two applications together (the guide for configuring Zonealarm with Xbconnect looks like it's referring to an old version of ZA, so I'm not sure how to configure it correctly).

So I thought I'd swap to the Windows Firewall, but XBC seems to indicate that you should switch it off!?

I'm confused and don't want to leave my PC exposed!

Any suggestions on how to run the latest version of Zonealarm with Xbconnect???
