You had(still have) an account with an isp (internet service provider ; BT,AOL etc) but used Outlook Express to view your emails. OE is just a program, nothing more.
As you have replaced the base unit ALL of the emails in your inbox will be on that unit. And you will never be able to read them again. Sorry.
Is that unit still available? If so then all is not lost and you can be up and running in no time? If not then can you remember who your email account was with? Who do you pay a subscription to?
