Medion are ok, had to fix a few peeps here at work have brought in. They are quite reasonable for the money tbh. On the down side, ffs dont loose your restore disk as they do not keep copies and cannot provide a replacement (found out when one of my lusers lost his disk)

Try again,

P4 3.2 is the 2MB cache, not 1MB, try £190+ (if it's the 478 Extreme, it's £600+, but that ain't clear)
The motherboad is inkown, but I doubt it's that one! PCI express MOBO will set you back about 100 notes.
The hard drive is SATA, so Maxtor 300GB is £170.

I've only listed 3 items and it's already circa £460!!!!

They used to wait 4-6 months between PC deals, obviously deciding it's a good money spinner!
I brought the 1st one they did a few years ago. Been handed down thru the family, but still working fine. Would recommend one.

£750 inc vat? If so, thats a good package for the price. I paid a grand for a similarly specced AMD box about 6months ago, however I did get a good monitor included.

I was just trying to put it in relative terms - you are right, if its a proper 64 bit processor and matching PCI express 64bit board then that is shockingly well priced.

doesn't say if that includes Vat if not its a crap deal, the graphics card is nowt special and it dont include a monitor, all the wifi, usb, sounds etc is Onboard and the Ram is probably the slow specced stuff.

We're selling a similalrly spec'd AMD64 system in the shop for £670 (inc VAT) including a 17" TFT

Only difference is a slighlty cheaper graphics card (PCI-e X300SE) but the board allows you to run two of them , and no Microsoft Works

I have just checked with Aldi - it is a pentium 4 Extreme with 2mb cache 3.2 mhz and has the 64 bit extension set.

Ebuyer want £650 inc vat just for the processor.

So that is the equivalent of an AMD FX55 at £550 as well.

Either its a loss leader, or Aldi own factories in Malaysia

Mark

Is there an Aldi anywhere near us? That's a steal if they're assuring you its the P4 Extreme they're building with!

Buy a few....strip the bits....make a killing on eBay!!!

I would have thought the processor is more likely to be a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 640 HT 64bit processor. Meets the 64bit extensions and 2MB cache criteria.

This site http://md8083.hertsinternet.com/ certainly thinks it is as do others
