Running Processes
I seem to have 39 running on my laptop
How can I tell what they are and what's safe to turn off as my lappy is so slow at times.
There's no spyware running in the background, I have done a disk clean-up and a defrag.

Go to the start button: Run: and type: msconfig.exe Go to the Startup tab and select: Disable All. With WinXP you can only stop non-essential processes so this is totally harmless. If you notice a significant increase in performance you have two choices; either start fewer processes or add more memory.
