PDA data syncronisation via GPRS
I'm currently using my PDA to sync data to an SQL server behind my firewall, evertime I use this facility I have to run up the VPN software and enter my username and password.
Now because of the nature of what I'm doing, sometimes I may need to log out of the software and end the VPN session, when I then continue, I need to run the login process again.
Does anyone know of a way to create a secure session, without the need for authentication.
Thanks.
Mark

Mark,
In a Remote Access situation, your VPN is probably always going to require user authentication. Also, given that you are connecting over an unreliable link and probably also from a dynamic IP, I don't think you're going to be able to achieve what you want. However, some VPN guru may be able to correct me!
From a security standpoint, the idea of giving an easily lost portable device the ability to log in to my VPN without credentials is not something I would entertain if I was running that network
Cheers,
Alex
