DVD-R to CD-R

I have a DVD-R that I need to transfer on to a CD-R. Is this possible? What software do I need?

dvd are abou 4.7gb and cdr are about 700mb so i would say you would need about10-12 cdr to transfer the date or if its a film just rip it into a divx

Its a 20 minute film. Whats the best software to rip into a divx?
