Question Bluetooth Help - XP SP2

I have a USB Bluetooth adaptor that used to work fine on WinXP SP1. I could see My Bluetooth Places and transfer files easily.

Since upgrading to SP2 I no longer have My Bluetooth Places and have to used the single file transfer option in SP2.

Anyone know how I can get My Bluetooth Places back ?

Thanks

SP2 stuffed up my belikin bluetooth as well. I ended up reverting to SP1, reinstall the B/T software, then put SP2 back on.

Can't you step back using the restore function on your XP to before you put your integrated SP2 on, then download SP2 from Microsh1tes site.

I've got the EXACT same problem Dunk. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any work around at the moment - I've looked (but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place!)

SP2 also fukked up my webcam Gonna re-install the PC over the Xmas break (I've got one!) and leave it on SP1.

Will be interested to see if there are any work-arounds...... (I think it was part of the security "update" )

My bluetooth was stuffed as well but XP has it's own bluetooth functionality (I think ) which I prefer to the one that came with my adapter... (little blue icon in RHS of task bar)

yeh - XP does have it's own, but it's useless (IMHO).

I used to be able to browse my BT device. Eg the T610 or S55 has a file architecture that I could explore in XP......

Great for transferring stuff etc

Not any more

I have the same problem, I would be very interested in seeing these files, could you PM me the details?

Thx!

Dunk - got it sorted however, whlist I was downloading the files from you

I *think* all I've done is to reinstall the Widcom (sp) drivers. Then gone into "msconfig" and stopped the microsoft BT stuff in "startup".

Whe I now go into my Siemens data suite, I can explore my phone and the MMC

Works well

Without wishing to screw up a working system, what is the difference between my setup and the downloaded files?

Cheers,

Dan

Dunk, I can host them for you and pop 'em in a zip file to make it easy to get. Then post a link here...

Let me know?

Pretty much the same mate. My way was just disabling bth.ini to stop XP installing its own device drivers then installing modified Widcomm software and hardware drivers which are not brand specific.

Glad its sorted
