Question Adobe Acrobat - Image resolution issue

Hi,

I am trying to embed and image in an acrobat file and the resolution keeps dropping.

The original image, in either TIIF or JPEG drops from 300 dpi to 160ish.

Thanks in advance.

When you "print" the file to the Distiller, there are options for output format, e.g. Screen, Print etc. Each of these are configurable and each allows you to specify image resolution.

Might be that

Cheers

exactly right.when in distiller, you go to the PDF settings menu and in there you will see image section. There you can choose sampling rates and dpi settings.try a few settings and see which one gives you the best result between quality and file size.
remember acrobat has an overall setting that optimises for web etc, so make sure to check that or else all your hard work goes up the spout.

Spot on. The lowest setting is 72dpi screen resolution so most things will look a bit crap. You can customise it fully to give the downsampling you want. Higher the dpi the larger the file.

I've found that taking a large initial file and downsizing it more works better than a smaller file downsized less. YOu might want to try a few different setting to see what works best for you in terms of trade off of image quality vs image size
