DVD writer Recommendations
Looking for a new dvd writer to replace my current 2x coaster maker.
whats the best/fastest around at the mo.
Has to be speedy as i am sick of the misses screwing up my dvd authoring to check on her email when i leave it for an hour or six

I've heard the NEC ND-3500A is a good one. 16 speed

Been done to death.....
This topic has been covered off many times more recently, but the 2 that seem to be the better/most popular seem to be the pionneer 108 and the similar NEC...
I'm sure if you hit the search button...... you can get a better idea of why peeps have gone this route....

did the searches but new models are being released thick and fast at the moment and the last thread was about june time.
cheers for the replies i had picked up on the pioneer from previous threads but the NEC is a new one on me

Pioneer/Piodata 108 and NEC 3500a are the only two you should really consider (unless you can find an Asus 1648 which is a cheaper, re-badged 108)
Both equally future proof and well supported in respects of firmware upgrades.
The pioneer's have more hacked firmwares (RPC and burn speed) available, thanks to the continuous hard work of the Dangerous Brothers

gone for the nec from dabs.com as they are only a few pennys more than microdirect and i have a business acount with them should be with me in a couple of days

i have a nec 2700 but the new 3500 is mint we supply them to all cust's at work because they are at a good price and they will last for a few years!.. .
