New PSU required. Recommendations please.
PSU is causing me problems. It started just turning off randomly. But its got worse over the last few weeks. Now it will turn on for about a sec then die. Only way to get it to turn back on is to pull the plug from the mains. Wait, a few seconds then plug back in. It may last a few seconds or maybe a few minutes. But again it will just die.
Thought it was a temperature sensor causing the PSU to turn of due to heat. But all Fans are running. Most of the time the PC has been off all day, i turn on and it starts to boot for 3/4 secs and then dies. Sometimes it will last for a few hours, just enough time to play Halflife and Call of Duty.
My PC spec is:
AMD 64 3200, 1.5 Gig RAM, 3 hard drives, DVD-ROM,CD writer, DVD writer.
I was using a QTEC 550W PSU, which, I've just done some research on and turns out that its quite common for these PSU's to die.
So whats the best to buy??

QTech (not the same as QTechnology) is rubbish. Check out Enermax or Globalwin. You want a PSU that stays on for a few mins after the pc has shutdown. Look here http://www.adecy.com/psu/ to calc the power requirements.

I have a Tagan 480W & the quality is fabulous.
Review here
They obviously read the reviews as well because mine came with 4 sata connectors, PCI express, two shielded molex for hard drives/VGA, 8 normal molex, 2 floppy & adaptable 20/24 pin & 4/8 pin power connectors.
Very quiet & everything about the whole package screams quality
