Cool Which ADSL modem?

Hi Guys,

I'm finally getting adsl some time soon and need a usb modem. Are they all pretty much the same or are some much better than others? I don't need anything fancy, only got the one pc so no need for routers and stuff.
Any recommendations would be gratefully received.

Please G*d not the Frog. That is without the worst modem out there - that's why so many ISPs give them away! In general USB modems (dial-up or ADSL) are a no-no. Have a look here for ideas, but I'd say you should get a modem/router for the added security, plus the better reliability of ethernet over USB. You can get single-channel ones. Anything by Netgear or Linksys will be OK. Get some ideas here about prices etc.

As Meridian said, Ethernet all the way. USB ADSL modems are more trouble than they're worth.
