what is c:\windows\system32\adiisex.exe ?

Default what is c:\windows\system32\adiisex.exe ?

Is it safe to remove, along with adiisex.dll ?

Its bringing up windows dialogue boxes every 5 mins...

16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction

any idea what this ?

Try Downloading adware or spybot and running these programs, it should pick up any problems.

tried that - this message keeps appearing - anyone know specifically what it is so I can get some instructions to manually remove it ?

rename it and wait a few days to see if everything still works. if you don't have any problems delete it

tried ithat - renamed adsiisex.exe and adsiisex.dll to something else BUT...

- it stops the dialogue box appearing every 10 seconds but now I have an issue with right clicking on any applications in windows - causes the application to crash

I would suggest you do a full Virus Scan on you System

If you havent got one installed on your PC go to Panda , Symantec or Trend etc and do a online scan

Just in case you have been infected

Is the file name "adiisex.exe" (as in your first post) or "adsiisex.exe" (as in your later post)?

Remember to disble system restore, then go to start/run and type MSCONFIG


then click the startup tab and remove all entries with the problem file.

Reboot and press ctrl alt del - to see if its still running in memory.
