Question How Do I Stop IE Rearranging my Links ??

I keep the sites I visit most often and work related ones in my "links" folder so that they are accessable from the top of IE.

Until recently whatever way I arranged them they stayed e.g. my first link was google...now it insists on keeping putting them in alphabetic order so google is not at the top of the page.

Any ideas I dont remember changing anything recently this just started !

With mine I think the logic is that anything new goes down the bottom and works its way up the more you use it! You never know where it is!!!!

Can't you just drag and drop them?

I am using firefox 1.0 as my main browser now, and that has a very good bookmarks management function, I try not to use IE as much as possible!

Yep that in a way is the problem when you drag them to where you want them they rearrange themselves after you restart the browser

Weird thing is this has only started ! have always arranged my links in the order I want them, and over the years they never moved until now

Doesn't run ActiveX (which is either good or bad, but means that some sites don't work too well) - e.g you can't go to the MS Windows Update site with FF

Doesn't run Java apps properly all the time

Some complex sites that have been tweaked to work in IE don't always render properly

I use both - FF 98% of the time, IE when I have to.

There's a useful extension to FF that adds "Open Link in IE" to the RMB pop-up menu for those pesky sites

...and once you've used tabbed browsing in FF, used the mouse gestures extension, seen the "open in tabs" option in the sub-folders of bookmarks and realised how you can browse faster and smarter by clicking the mouse wheel, you will become a FF convert. Trust me....
