Default XP Pro- need to stop the kids installing stuff

Is there any software I can put on my XP Pro system to stop the kids installing software? I'm sick of having to format and re-install due to the amount of crap that accumulates on my hard drive.

I have passwords set, but I'm not sure if I can set anything else within windows?

Thanks in anticipation.

Simon.

If you set the kids up with usernames but don't give them local admin rights this should sort your problem out. To do this right click on my Computer and select manage. Clcik the plus sign next to local users and groups. First goto users and create a new username ie kid 1, kid 2. If you then goto the groups and then add the username to a group ie users then they won't be able to add or install programs.

Mail me if you need more help.

Or tell them, for every program they install, you'll dock their pocket money for a month.

No probs. Forgot to say that if you want to make it foolproof you should set a password for the administrator account otherwise they can go in and change the settings!

Good luck!
