How do I remove everything from a computer?
My laptop decided to stop booting up last week, How do i ensure everything is cleaned off the hard drive ready to install a new operating system?, as I have decided to upgrade the OS as everything is "lost" anyway.

I assume you are going to Windows XP? Pop the disc in & you get the option to fully format the drive in the file system of your choice (NTFS or FAT32) before installing the OS. It takes a while but wipes everything.

NTFS for me as well. Much more efficient, secure, and significantly quicker for ceratin types of file access
FAT32 is really only recommended if you want to share the drive between different operating systems (win98 and xp for example - win98 can't read ntfs without some modifications / addons).
