Default MAC Soundcards for G4s'...

Basically the G4's we own do not have line in, and the media students are now going to be using this on the G4's (they had been doing it on the imacs)....

anyway, what soundcards are 100% compatable with the G4 with MAC OS X, and has line in?

And where can one purchase 24 from?

Christian - do a quick search for the user AllanB, he works for Macwarehouse so he should know the spec of card you need, plus I would have thought he could source them for you.

I use Macs with audio (not only teach it at college, but also have my own studio)

Depends on what you want to spend. I've just bought a load of M-Audio Audiophile 2496 - £136 ex VAT from Music Village - Education site

It connects on USB, and also has a MIDI interface.
Here

However, you've got chioces from MOTU (I've got these @ the studio) Digidesign (ProTools), Emagic. These are the main ones - any questions, giz a shout

yes, it does - not the G4, the interface.

How about this http://www.maudio.co.uk/products/en_...on51-main.html

No experience of M-Audio products myself, but at around £69, maybe just buy one and see how it goes?

they're ok actually, but with constant use, the connections could get damaged. Especially as they're 3.5mm minijack.

For student abuse, you're really looking at something a bit more substantial - in my experience anyway

Good card for home use though
