Default Costco laptops - a good deal?

Thinking of buying a laptop out of costco and wondered if this was a good deal.

The model is a Toshiba Satellite M30-107, 15.4" widescree, P4 Celeron, 512 Mb, 80Gb, DVD-Super multi drive.

They're doing it for £100 off so it's £1175 all in. Does this sound like a decent spec for the cash or is there better out there for cheaper?

Any advice appreciated.

Bein a tosh sat owner, I would advise, steer clear of Tosh. Mine is just under 2 years old and is bordering on the virtually unusable because its virtually falling to bits (cracked lid, pcmcia slots stopped working and some of the keys refuse to work. If you want my honest opinion, you can go wrong with the IBM thinkpad series for similar money if a slightly lesser spec.

PC world are advertising a Pack Bell lappy with DVDRW, 3 gig processor 15 inch screen etc for 799.

Wouldn't usually think of them as a place to seriously buy stuff but price seems good....

What will the machine be used for? Many more out there cheaper than that

Cheers for the info guys.

Won't be using it for games or anything so it's just for the net and burning cd's/dvd's etc. Oh, Wi Fi and bluetooth would be good as well.

I know it's probably overkill but wanted a decent spec as I don't upgrade very often.

I'd check out places like www.insight.com, and even ebuyer have some good lappys around. All much cheaper than that.
