Default TomTom Go SD Card compatibility

just bought a dabsvalue 1GB SD card for my TomTom GO as the 128meg card doesn't have enough room for the UK maps and the "Major roads of Europe" map as well. transferred the contents of the 128meg card onto my pc and then transferred them back onto the 1GB card using the TT Go connected via USB.

the card is made by Peak and is x60 if that means anything to anyone. have tried different combinations of file swapping but to no avail, the TT Go refuses point blank to boot up. I am left with the splash screen (tomtom 2 red hand screen).

posted on pocketGPS forums but they are not very fast at answering and thought some on here might have encountered the same problems. any advice or help greatly appreciated.

cheers

Tom Tom Go is an all in one navi unit, it's not a PDA.

As an aside I managed to break my windscreen mounting thingie. The up/down adjustment wouldn't hold still, so I kept tightening it until it broke. Bugger. Still I paid extra and bought it from PC World so taking it back shouldn't be an issue.
