Strange probs installing printer cd
Hi
Just setup an old pc of mine.
p3 850, 256 mb ram, xp + sp2
Built the whole pc no probs installed xp, office, avast anti virus, etc etc
I had to put an old h disk in to copy over my old docs, and then switched back to the cd drive.
This is when my problems started.
The last task on the pc was to install the new epson cx3200 3 in 1 printer.
So I put the setup cd in, got the auto run cd image come up next to the mouse cursor, the cd drive spins up, it will show me whats on the cd and let me browse through the directories.
BUT it WILL NOT autorun, or will not let me run the setup.exe. It just does nothing no error mesaages just nothing.
If i put another cd in it will autorun ok.
So downloaded drivers from epson, double click the setup exe - nothing at all!
Really cant work out whats going on.
All jumpers are set correctly, and I have tried in the bios setting to auto, cdrom, pio auto, 32 bit on and off. Still nothing.
Whats strange is cant run the downloaded file either, but evrything else seems to work fine.
If i right click on the exe and run as, then choose administrator
I get a windows 16bit subsystem error stating it cant create a temp file, or there is not enough disk space.??? (which there is).
Have tried logging on as the administartor, and does exactly the same as above.
Really stuck now
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Steve

Is this the file you downloaded?
ftp://ftp.epson-europe.com/pub/uk/dr...n2000_5.4a.exe
I've just downloaded that and setup runs OK. (I cancelled it when it got to the licence agreement page), so you should be able to rule out a corrupt install file.
