Internet Browser? (Firefox)
After much badgering from one of my work colleagues (Damian666), I thought I'd give Mozilla Firefox a go.
Initial impressions is the look and feel of IE is there, but without all the clunky add-ons.
Links seem to work quicker, but I don't know if it's just my imagination.
I'll give it a proper test over the next few days and see how I get on.
Anyone else on here use it?

Yep I switched some time ago from IE, its great although doesnt have 100% site compatability so I still use IE occasionally, I was quite happy using IE5 but had to upgrade to 6 for some game and directx and 6 runs like a fecking dog.

I'm really impressed!
I love the tabbed feature for multiple pages, as well when clicking on a hyperlink in Outlook, rather than changing the last open IE page, it opens a new instance of FF!

I'm glad there's a good alternative to IE.
Having tried other browsers in the past, there was always something that made me go back to IE.
For the day to day sites I use, SN, CRX forum, ebay, webmail, etc, it's perfectly fine. I'm sure I'll find sites that will still need IE, but until then I'm very please with Firefox.
I can't believe how instinctive it is to use! (Then again an Internet browser shouldn't be rocket science to use!!) The settings and preferences are easy to configure. The pop up stopper works and the ability to add sites that can pop up is an advantage over some pop up stoppers.
Until I find fault with it, it's a 10 out of 10 from me!!

Andy - Have been using firefox for a couple of months now, both on PC and Macintosh platforms.
Safari on the mac is pretty good, but it won't work with some banking websites, and I can't see them changing them for us poor mac users and I was getting narked off with having to use IE and Safari just to do my online banking, so I switched to firefox, no problems. Only site I've found it has problems with is Abbey National's e-banking site, but it's only giving a warning, it does actually work.
PC wise, well, I think we all know that IE is a bit pants to say the least, so swtiching was a no-brainer.

I try and use it as much as possible, but unfortunately some websites are not correctly rendered. But if more and more people use it, then the lazy sods who have coded IE only websites will be forced to change. Which can only be a good thing.
Unfortunately Exchange OWA will only give the rich client to IE.

i have recently tested opera and firefox.
Wasnt impressed with firefox
But I like opera http://www.opera.com/
They say its the fastest browser about and i must admit that pages do seem to load quicker
The main advantage I can see is that pages load as as theyare being downloaded, whereas IE seems to download all of the page before displaying it.
Also when you click back in IE it can take ages , whereas opera is instanteaneous
Im sticking with opera for now

I haven't tried Opera in a while, but I was dissapointed when I last tried it, but that mainly due to rendering issues I encountered on most of the websites I visited.
I've found one bug with Firefox! I installed it on my home laptop last night and the scroll feature on the mousepad no longer works!! The strange thing is that I installed Firefox on my work laptop and the scroll on the mousepad is fine!!

Opera is FULL of bugs, unstable, and doesn't render stuff correctly (especially dhtml). How you can say it's better than firefox I don't know. I've been developing stuff to work across all the major browsers (ie, firefox, mozilla, opera), and opera has easily proved to be the most troublesome of the lot so far.
Each to their own I suppose.....

Have to agree with Iain Opera is a pita to develop for and rarely shows pages as intended.
Maybe give FF another go, the latest Windows builds are excellent

Yeah, I use Firefox. I've noticed a few rendering 'quirks' but nothing important. I only installed Firefox a week or two ago and have been very impressed. It's intuitive for ex-IE users, I like the Extension support and well, it isn't IE. Check out the excellent Adblock extension -- http://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10.

I admire your desire to search out an alternative browser though
