Cheap as chips colour inkjet - recommendations?
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a cheap colour inket printer for the wife to knock off a few birthday/thank you cards (small colour graphics and a few basic photos, but nothing spectacular required). I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for cheap printers, suitable for very limited use. The printer will only be used for occasional colour printing, as I have an HP4 B&W Laser Printer for bulk usage that I will be keeping).
Was looking under the £50 mark including all cartridges - Seems like many Lexmark printers in PC World/Argos but are these any good, or am I better off with another manufacturer?
Thanks in advance for any advice
Julian

Nowt wrong with Lexmark printers, but the replacement cartridges are horrendously expensive by comparison.
Was in Costco the other week looking at a stack of Lexmark printers. Bloke next to me looked bemused cos they were selling complete printers cheaper than they were selling the replacement cartridges. Now I know the original cartridges are often only about 50% full, but still almost worth buying a new printer every time ink needs replacing.

Yeah I just noticed this on a visit to PC World. Looks like the replacement Lexmark items are >£20 compared to £7-12 for the Epson/HP Equivalent.
jfrf - I do like the look of the HP on that inquirer site. Will take a check on that one tomorrow when I hit town.

PS WWSD - I've already got some of those

Thanks for all the replies. Just to follow up I ended up getting the Canon i250 from ebuyer. Only £33 and generic cartridges are less than £2 a pop (£3 for colour!!!)
Print quality is fantastic, and to date I've only tried printing photos on Tesco Value paper as that's all I currently have!! Printer also looks pretty good considering the price.
Cheers

Bit late I know but the Epson C46 (£40-50)and C66 (£60-65), are both good value for money.
They also use their predecessors ink carts so are available for a few quid a set.
