Default iTunes/Motorola - the future

No its not garlic bread....

I heard from a very reliable source today that there are things afoot with the next generation of Motorola mobile phones.

Key highlights include:

* Quad band coverage
* iTunes and the Music Store available and the first versions will store up to 350 tracks (future versions to hold up to 4000)
* Built in WiFi and GPRS so you have totally seamless connection to your WAN/LAN.
* Voice over IP (wireless)

Apparently the CEO of Motorola and CEO of Apple go back a long way and have signed a deal......

Nokia, Sony & others have banded together with Western Digital to make tiny hard drives for phones with big capacities.

If anything is going to rival iPod it'll be one of those - but how far down the line until they appear is anyone's guess...

I'd say middle of next year. Sony already have the W800i which is under the 'walkman' tag. Any smartphone as well that uses a memory card can do the same. plus they aren't restricted to just mp3. ogg files are smaller and the quailty is perfect for headphones.

Going off the dimensions Mike it looks about the same size as a standard iPod - but a bit "fatter" if you know what I mean. My iPod certainly isn't huge but it's nowhere near as compact as my 6230.

Which is the phone you have Mike? I'm due for replacement soon and fancy something with a bigger screen - I'm leaning towards the Sony W800i SWS mentioned at the moment but I like the usability of the nokia (except that press the middle of the cursor to select malarky)

Trust me it's huge!!!!!! All the N series from nokia are very big phones.

If your wanting a small phone I can very highly recommend the sony ericsson W800i

Thanks
