Hello
I know what the "bt" stands for in your name then ... !
On a more serious note, I would be happy to actually buy it if anyone knows a retailer selling it in England?
Thanks,
Steve.

Not for me
I know a friend who works in publishing, and he managed to send me Doom3 on saturday. It arrived this morning, but only managed to have time to install the game, configure the settings and play for about a minute, before I had to shoot off to work!!
But what can I say? First impressions, it looks fantastic, has a very half-life feel to it. Basically when you start the game, you begin with an id intro, followed by information about the corporation which is based on mars. They have unlimited funding, and they need not follow any laws (i.e. they can develop what they want, on who they want). They have the most advanced technology available. It then cuts to a view from mission control on the mars base, and you see the guys map/radar screen with a craft flying in. It then cuts to it to the craft coming into land, and then back again to the flight control. You see the craft fly by, and also on the radar screen, all done in realtime, looks fantastic. When it has landed, it goes inside the craft where you see a scientist and what looks like two marines. A guy comes out and greets the team from the base, and basically you get the impression that you are here to control/fix something. IF the scientist cannot fix it, then the marines are the heavys that will destroy it. That was the impression I received, it then cuts straight to first person view, where you are now incontrol of one of the marines. You walk and talk to one of the guys, and a voice comes over the speaker system saying please report to reception. This is what I mean when I said it is very half-life, reminds me of half-life one. You then walk to reception, and you see some guards behind a screen, they instruct you to face the scanner machine, which scans you and then lets you into the "reception" area. You walk in, and a video starts playing on one of the screens in the reception area, which says "Welcome to mars..." and I guess will give you some info about the corporation, one of those p.r. things companies have playing in their reception. However, at this point, I had to quit the game and go to work
I had the graphics set to medium, and resolution at 1280x1024. The graphics seemed to run very smoothly. My machine is basically 768MB Ram, P4 2.4gig, ATI Rad 9700 PRO 128mb gfx card. Btw, you need 2gigs free to install the game.
As you can see, I haven't got very far at all in the game, so I do not know how my machine will cope when I see some monsters/shooting etc, but fingers crossed it will cope!
I am still purchasing an official copy when it comes out in the shops, as you cannot play online with this review/publishing version. BUT, I can't wait till work finishes today, so I can go home and continue playing it!!
