Default McAfee updating problem... Jack?

Has anyone had any updating problems this week? My server has not been able to run a mirror all this week. I've had to manually download an SDAT file & run it on every workstation. Here's my mirror log showing the latest attempt:

7/22/2004 7:40:12 AM MICROUK\Administrator Starting VirusScan task: Mirror
7/22/2004 7:40:13 AM MICROUK\Administrator Performing Mirror task from repository NAIFtp to C:\Company Shared Folders\NAI Mirror
7/22/2004 7:40:35 AM MICROUK\Administrator Error downloading file /CommonUpdater/SiteStat.xml, naInet GetLastError() = 0
7/22/2004 7:40:35 AM MICROUK\Administrator Error occurred while downloading file SiteStat.xml.
7/22/2004 7:40:35 AM MICROUK\Administrator Mirror task from repository NAIFtp failed.
7/22/2004 7:40:35 AM MICROUK\Administrator Performing Mirror task from repository NAIHttp to C:\Company Shared Folders\NAI Mirror
7/22/2004 7:40:57 AM MICROUK\Administrator Error occurred while downloading file SiteStat.xml.
7/22/2004 7:40:57 AM MICROUK\Administrator Mirror task from repository NAIHttp failed.
7/22/2004 7:40:57 AM MICROUK\Administrator Mirror task was not completed.

Using IE to manually go to the update sites results in errors:
ftp://ftp.nai.com/CommonUpdater
http://download.nai.com/Products/CommonUpdater

Nothing has changed on my system.

Virusscan Enterprise v7.0.0. Mirror running on W2k SP4 server.

Jack, I just checked again now & could manually get to the site, I could not get there before (either ftp or http) & got an IE error. The Mirror is now working for the first time this week. My thoughts are maybe a routing issue. My IP is from a very new range & is blocked by some out of date routers. Something must have changed on the NAI update site as I can now get in.

Regards
Nick

It's a DCOM error which is infamous within VirusScan Enterprise

Do a search on the site (NAI) for DCOM and you'll find the suggestions

If you run DCOMCNFG and go to component services, computers, my computer, dcom config, naproductmanager and right click for properties.

Look at the security tab and you'll see that the access permissions will be set to customize and the settings will be blank.

Set them back to default, save and reboot and you should find it'll work now.

Sorry Jack.. can I hijack the thread and pick your brains too? To get XBox live running on my PC Microsoft reckon I need to open up UDP 88, UDP 3074 and TCP 3074. My McAffe desktop firewall (on a work laptop) doesn't seem to let me do this however (most options are greyed out to stop meddlers like me I guess!).. Is there any way around this do you think?

Any help much appreciated.. I'm hoping to be able to waste my weekend on TOCA 2 etc

I guess I can either talk nicely to our IT Dept to get them to amend it for me at network level or just uninstall the whole McAffee firewall off the laptop.. Not sure whether this will cause me more problems though!
