Question Connecting PC to mobile phone? Help!

What is the best way to connect PC and mobile phone together?

I have recently aquired an SE T610 with bluetooth and IR capability and also different cables seem to be available - some for service only and others for data transfer...

What is the best way to connect the 2, or do you have to use something different for different activities?

Cheers

Serial cable, rs232. IR's okay but you need to have a steady hand. Depending upon your OS search google for the modem string etc.

Question

rs232 is a serial connection I think, is that better than a USB connection?

Cheers

I use a usb bluetooth dongle. £30 from PC world or John lewis. Haven't had a problem and means that I don't have to hold the phone inline with the device. Dead easy and means you can also hook up any other bluetooth device to the pc. I have a T610 as well.

I use my T610 with a bluetooth USB dongle (get it off eBay though - half the price of PC world!) to transfer pictures etc. You can't syncronise the address book etc with 'outlook' though - you will need the lead - again try eBay

Question

Cheers guys...

Does the bluetooth dongle need to be specifically for the T610? - A lot of ads (on ebay) specify compatability with some phones & not others - doesn't make sense to me...

cheers

I've got a belkin usb dongle. And used it with no probs with my T610.

Only downside now is I need a USB hub as I've run out of USB ports

Simon - I bought a PC card to put in my machine - only a few quid at a computer fair and now 4 extra 2.0 USB ports!
