Eclipse Broadband
I've signed up to Eclipse broadband 500. Its £23.95 month and on a monthly contract
Is anyone else with them, if so whats it like?
Also this temporary upgrade to a 1 meg line looks i can upgrade to a 1 meg line for 12p a minute
I've been told about Kazaa lite (not kazaa as i believe the lite version is the one i should use) has anyone got experience of this, whats it like?
Also, anyone got any other tips or sites i should visit now that it doesn't take me 25 mins to download a 3 minute video clip

I have eclipse 512 at home, never had a problem with it. As for kazzalite, although this version is supposedly spyware free, I found the bulk of the stuff it downloads is infected, the same is probably true for any P2P.
If you use any peer to peer you need to be on top with anti virus.
Someone recommended shareaza on here the other week, I have found it pretty good, though to be honest I have had better results by opening a bit-torrent through shareaza, than by searching for stuff directly if you know what I mean.

I was told about it a while back so i decided to have a look on their site. I got carried away and signed up to it there and then

Eclipse is not the cheapest, but the cheapest isn't always the best
For a few pounds a month more, you do get a great level of service.

Ethernet cards should adhere to ethernet standards. "Broadband" (I put that in quotes as it is a non-specific term) has nothing to do with Ethernet really. Suspect it is an issue with the Speedtouch modem if anything.
I'd always recommend NOT using a USB modem - always best to get an ADSL modem/router like a Netgear DG814/DG824/DG834.

2) An ADSL modem/router is standalone, and does not require a certain PC to be switched on to enable the ADSL connection. ie, if you have a wireless LAN and a laptop, you wouldn't need your desktop PC with USB modem to be switched on to allow you to surf on the laptop.
