Automatic PDF Creation ?
I would like to automatically batch create PDF's from a folder of Tiff files each night. Anyone used any good programs with which you can create a 'watched' folder and generate PDF's of the contents at a specified time or upon a single button press ? We want to run this overnight as there will be lots of multipage Tiff files.
Cheers,
Dunk

You could automate it from Photoshop using an action. I wouldn't be able to make it from here for you but it would be simple.
Each night before you leave you could simply drag the folder on the the droplet and it will start its business and save the PDF's to your chosen location.
Or you could just get a Mac and let Applescript to do it for you

dunk,
you could install a 'virtual' print driver that creates pdfs when you print to it, then you could probably schedule a job to just 'print' the tiff image creating the file. Is it on windows? there's plenty of scripting tools that would let you do what you want.

Cheers, I'll have a play around with what we have and see what I can do. Acrobat creates a printer (distiller) to create the PDF's, so a script could be a possibility.

Purchased and used Tiff2PDF in the end. Most other programs we tried couldn't handle the strange colour Jpeg Tiffs that we output from our software. Works a treat and only $30 too
