used to have a couple of sites with this company - choice was based on price, speed, service and reliability.

they do .com and .uk

For every good experience there is at least one which screams "avoid, avoid avoid". Here's mine:

Hostplus are rubbish in my opinion. My main e-mail accounts have been down for the last week - so I can neither send nor receive e-mail anymore. In addition, ftp access stopped working two days ago. They do not respond to support tickets anymore.

I've given up and moved my site elsewhere today, even though there are still 5 months to run before the contract ends. Luckily the domains are registered at Joker, so I can change the DNS settings myself without relying on hostplus and their non-existant support.

Like I said AVOID!

Considered Titan, but the webspace is too limited for the price. My current [family] site is 140mb without webmail, which would cost 200 squids a year...

Have gone with webfusion, paying 7.95 monthly so I can abandon them quickly if their offering isn't what they promise. Now on my 3rd host in four years, so I don't actually hold out much hope.

Suresh

P.S. Sorry for x posting everywhere, but as you might gather I seriously pi55ed off by hostplus and their poor service.

I've been running web sites for years, and my current host are the best by far - http://www.asmallorange.com.

Another note: Avoid 1&1 at all costs! You wouldn't believe what I've been through with them.

One of the very best http://www.bluewho.com - you get amazing response 24 hours replies within minutes etc. I use them and have had excellent service.

Mike

PS. They charge in dollars so you get quite a lot for your money with the exchange rate, but they're based in Dublin.
