Why does my start menu look like this?

Default Why does my start menu look like this?



Then if I point my cursor and move it over the black area it does this (not clicking the mouse either) ???

Mine does that sometimes, usually after I've been messing with screen settings.

Check/adjust resolution and frequency that monitor/graphics card are set at.

Graphics card driver glitch will be the most likely root cause of that.

Never knew your name was Jane, Scooby96...

Wow

Do people actually stick with the standard XP desktop

Change to classic look now....much less cluttered (and could have less graphical glitches which I agree is likely to be video driver related anyway).

Download latest driver. Completely uninstall current driver from add/remove programs.

Reboot until you have 640/480 screen.

Install new driver, set refresh ret of monitor to at least 72hz
