Knacked Modded XBox

Knacked Modded XBox
Hi Peeps,
Ive got a problem with my modded xbox. I have a Xbox with a 2.3b executor pro and a 40 GB OEM drive in it. Now I can boot up everything fine, backed up games etc, run XBMP but when it comes to the network it seems completely goosed.
Im trying to get onto it to put on some save games (sad I know) but I cant for the life of me get the Xbox to respond to anything from my network.
The laptop is set up: (both static IP)
IP: 10.0.0.2
SNet: 255.255.0.0
G/w: 10.0.0.1
The xbox is set up :
IP 10.0.0.3
S/Net: 255.255.0.0
G/w: 10.0.0.1
Now no matter what I do, I cant even get a ping reply (Does the EvoX BIOS support ICMP packets ? ) I have tried with both a router in there (Linkysys BFR8 series) and a x over cable (known good). No matter what I try, it will not respond to either pings or ftp requests.
Now it says (unknown bios) in Slayers BIOS checker but my mate uses the same BIOS and his works fine.
I get an activity light on the Xbox, but thats all. If I set the Xbox to pick up DHCP and change the router to serve dhcp addresses it never picks on up.
I tried to detect stuff in Xbox live also. It sees the cable connected but it wont do anything more than that.
Also XBConnect is no help as i tried what is listed in their setup guides etc but it still doesnt work and XBC wont pick up the box.
Anyone got any ideas on this because I have a nasty feeling that my mate who installed it may have cut one too many tracks

set it to DHCP, login to your router and look for 'attached devices' if it doesn't show up then there is deffo a problem somewhere, tried a new cable?
My xbox also says bios unknown and always does so thats not a problem.

Try as suggested by King RA. If you want EvoX to recignise your bios, just add the MD5 to the evox.ini file. If it doesn't match one of those listed it will say 'Unknown Bios'. Obviously you won't be able to do this simply before you get your network problem sorted
Make sure you don't have a software firewall interfering with the connection too.
I'm assuming there's a PC in there somewhere with the IP of 10.0.0.1 ?

Well peeps, it looked like my mate has broken the ethernet port as he couldnt get it to work after several hours od bios flashing etc etc. So question is, where do I start to look to get such hardware fixed ? or is it just cheaper to buy a modded console.

Does he have any idea how he may have fecked it ? Did he melt any traces that he shouldn't have ? If he did then its new mobo time, you'll find them on ebay. Otherwise, maybe its just a case of a dry joint where the ethernet port attaches ? If so, then most electronics menders should be able to sort it.

I think I have been banned. Dunno for sure, but I still cant get the sodding ftp to xbox to work. All this stuff should have worked, works on every other f*ckers, cept mine. So I have ordered a version 1.3 moby for the xbox and it cost me £30 so lets hope this one works.
What makes it hard is that sometimes nobody seems to know. I mean I dont even know if Xecutor chip supports icmp pings

ICMP or otherwise has nothing to do with the Xecutor Chip.
Its a function of the software you choose to run. All the dashboards to my knowledge support ICMP - its too fundamental (not just ping) to the inner workings of IP not to include in an IP Stack.
EVoX certainly does.

dsmith, I agree with you on the port, hence the new mobo. However, I do get link light and even the traffic light with collisions etc, which makes it even more weird.

Well, where to start. Some time ago some you may have remembered me saying my xbox network port doesnt work. Well I went to game and bought a brand new crystal box from game with a view to chipping it. I had reassembled the box many times looking for issues. Well I thought Id check it once more and bugger me it works. I think it must have been a bad earth or similar. Only problem is that I had a crystal box that was less than 5 hours old that I couldnt take back and was surplus to requirements ! - In the end, I just completely blagged the guy and told him it was faulty and I wanted my money back. He just knew I was lying through my teeth, but do I care
