Default help with mp3 conversion

hello all

I remembered today that i had spent a few quid on an mp3 player for my scoob, so why did i have a glove box full of cds :P ?

so i bring my cds in the house load up nero only to find it wont let me convert normal cd audio files into mp3 format - anyone know how i can overcome this? is there a good download that will convert audio to mp3 for me?

needs to be pretty idiot proof as i have a tendancy to **** these things up :P

I'd agree with wideboy. Get CDex. More info on their homepage.

Top piece of software and a doddle to use...and it's free

Do you have a life other than to belittle other peoples good advice bio?

Many Windows users are finding iTunes to be a great programme.

There's plenty more good reviews out there too. Maybe you should broaden your horizons slightly.

I had to uninstall iTunes as it kept hanging on my machine. Looked good on the odd occaision I did get it working though.

I tend to use audiograbber (http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/) or cdex myself. Both do a good job of creating mp3s / wmas / wavs etc of discs, and will even allow you encode protected discs if you so wish, (not that I'd condone this - but if all you want it for is to play in the car.....)

Thats fair enough Iain. I know there are a lot of Windows users out there using it. At least you gave it a go. Like I say there are plenty of people loving it. I know there were a few problems with the first Windows release but they have supposedly been ironed out now. I run it on my old donkey PC box and it is a little slow, but then again so is the machine.
